Trigger Point Myotherapy in San Francisco and San Rafael
Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger Point Myotherapy is a non-invasive therapeutic modality for the relief and control of muscle and connective tissue pain. This hands-on approach is based on the lifelong medical research of Dr. Janet Travell and David Simons. These pioneers discovered the relationship between chronic pain and the source – trigger points. Trigger Points are highly irritable spots in a muscle that contribute critically to pain. When correct pressure is applied to these painful areas the muscle can be "detrigged", bringing relief. Most patients with myofascial pain and dysfunction see excellent results, and a quick return to their normal daily and professional activities.

Benefits of Trigger Point Myotherapy:

  • Eliminate or decrease pain
  • Increase range of motion, flexibility and strength
  • Improve sleep
  • Decrease or eliminate medication, under a doctors supervision
  • Increased energy

"Heather's work is profoundly deep. Not only is she an excellent massage practitioner technically, but she has a true healing energy. Every time I have had work done from her, I feel a bit transformed."
–Wendy Taylor, Actress, Yoga Teacher

bodywork

Heather McFarlin works with clients in San Francisco and in San Rafael. Heather evaluates and treats the whole body using both Chi Nei Tsang and massage. Her love for yoga, Vipassana meditation, and Chi Gong have served to bring a light and presence to her sessions. Using applied Chi Gong and subtle awareness, she can tune into specific points of tension and assist in the unwinding of the core pattern causing the imbalance. Commonly, clients access a state between wakefulness and sleep, a state similar to trance or meditative awareness. Heather especially enjoys working with people interested in self-discovery and who are committed to healing, since ultimately, the healing comes from within each person.
