Chi Nei Tsang in San Rafael and San Francisco
Chi Nei Tsang in San Rafael and San Francisco

Chi Nei Tsang literally means “working the energy of the internal organs” or “internal organs chi transformation".

Chi Nei Tsang Bodywork sessions are available in a beautiful, quiet, private office in the Marina district in San Francisco and in a central and convenient office in San Rafael.

CNT was developed long ago by Chinese Taoist monks in monasteries working to detoxify, strengthen and refine the body in order to hold and carry the energy to perform the highest levels of spiritual practices and have the greatest health and well-being.

Background and Purpose of Chi Nei Tsang:

The belly center is the seat of health, vitality, internal power, creativity, and intuition and reflects the state of balance or imbalance of the entire body. Stress, nervous tension and emotional holding cause one to contract energetically, and physically, which is at the very core of any imbalance. A Chi Nei Tsang practitioner works directly with the root of the imbalance by working directly on the organs, accessing deep energetic points in the meridian system, through deep, gentle and skilled touch. This addresses all systems of the body, including lymphatic, visceral, musculo-skeletal, endocrine, nervous, reproductive, respiratory, lymphatic, metabolic, etc.

CNT is about getting in touch with unconscious charges and patterns in the navel center and redirecting energy there. It is about digestion of emotions and resolution of toxic charges so we can be more aware, more healthy, and have more ease and freedom, which is reflected in the breath, mental state, physical structure, energy level, and emotional state.

And since the abdominal structure holds a person's life purpose, any deviation from that purpose brings us in direct conflict with ourselves and can cause illness. When the structure of the navel is worked on, tensions and obstructions are addressed and reduced, helping put one back in touch with the true purpose and direction of their life.

Who can Benefit from Chi Nei Tsang?

Anyone who has a desire to heal themselves can benefit from CNT. It isn't for everyone, although it is safe and effective for almost anyone. This is a modality for those who truly wish to 'wake up' and not just have a relaxing non-participatory experience. Although it can be extremely relaxing on a core level, there is also a basic level of responsibility for oneself that cannot be surpassed.

It is helpful for almost any ailment, condition or disorder, as it promotes healing from the inside out. The body is meant to heal what is not working properly and Chi Nei Tsang assists the inherent healing within. CNT is like an 'inner feng shui' of sorts. Once there is proper alignment and detoxification, as well as balance of energy flow amongst the organs, the inherent system of healing in the body can gain momentum and healing can naturally occur from the inside out.

Frequency of Treatments

Depending on the issue at hand, once or even twice per week or one every two weeks is a reasonable amount of time in between sessions. After results are seen and felt, the client might only need to come in occasionally for a 'tune up'. It is very important for the client to keep working on themselves in between sessions and make any necessary lifestyle changes. 'Working' on themselves can be through simple chi gong exercises, meditation, self-manipulations, proper nutrition and self-care.

Conditions Treated through CNT

Most ailments can be treated through CNT. To name a few, conditions such as addiction, acid reflux, constipation/diarrhea, fertility issues,  chronic fatigue, depression, anxiety, trauma (emotional/physical), grief, and more.

CNT is a holistic approach to health. Any prior conditions requiring medication can be addressed, but it is important to continue seeing a western doctor if necessary. It is possible the dosage of a medication might need reducing after a series of sessions.

Applied "Chi Gong"

Applied Chi Gong is the purified energy that is transferred from practitioner to client. A practitioner of CNT is trained in the art of Chi Gong and practices daily for optimal benefit and in order to be a conduit for the pure and refined healing energy (using Cosmic, Universal and Earth energies).

"I have benefited greatly from your sensitive and intuitive touch which has allowed profound releases of stress, tension and holding in my body. Although I have experienced various forms of therapeutic massage over the years I have yet to experience anything as profound and healing as the Chi Nei Tsang treatments which you have so skillfully administered. I feel so blessed to have been given the opportunity to receive these treatments from you."

Heather McFarlin works with clients in San Francisco and in San Rafael. Heather evaluates and treats the whole body using both Chi Nei Tsang and massage. Her love for yoga, Vipassana meditation, and Chi Gong have served to bring a light and presence to her sessions. Using applied Chi Gong and subtle awareness, she can tune into specific points of tension and assist in the unwinding of the core pattern causing the imbalance. Commonly, clients access a state between wakefulness and sleep, a state similar to trance or meditative awareness. Heather especially enjoys working with people interested in self-discovery and who are committed to healing, since ultimately, the healing comes from within each person.
