Heather has a deep love of color, contour/line, shapes, and texture, and their ability to affect mood and conscious states of awareness. Many of her paintings are born from a place of deep feeling, beyond any objective or rational place. She uses primarily Oil and Acrylic and works mostly on canvas, incorporating graphite and pencil, stenciled lettering and words into her paintings. Her current works are mostly abstract and expressionistic with multiple layers of colors and subtle images. While painting, she tries to release mental 'effort' and be more of an empty vessel to see what comes through.
Heather received a Minor in Painting and Drawing from Chico State University in 1993, and has continued to study with teachers in the Bay Area, like Larry Robinson at UC Berkeley
extension, and the College of Marin to name a few. Some of the most influential artists for her are Dali, Klimt and Duchamp.
